Camp Hours
The modern professional game has evolved into a fast pace passing game where passes have to be “strung” with all surfaces in an extremely precise manner. If it is teams like Barcelona or Bayern Munich that mostly rely on possession or teams like Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool that are capable of running counter attacks at an enormous speed, passing and consistent movement to create angles of support are essential. During the third and seventh week of summer camp we will explore the topic of passing.
Players will learn how to use different surfaces of their feet correctly to play precise passes without pressure. We will then transition to providing pressure which will require players to improve speed of thought and quick decision making skills. A highly important aspect is developed psychologically through passing, the trust and cooperation you must have with teammates and their decisions, believing in their efforts for the common well-being of the team. In fun small sided and expanded small sided activities the older age groups will explore topics, variations, and combinations like playing out the back, wall passes, and overlaps. They will also be introduced to defending in groups (double teaming, cover), which is another major weakness of the American player.
